The Children's Center will be closed for the Christmas holidays December 24
through December 26, 2008. School Age Care will be offered during the Christmas
Break (Dec. 22, 23, 29, 30, & 31, & Jan 2). Spaces are limited.
Before School Schedule
7:00 a.m. – 7:45 a.m.
Children begin arriving; wash hands, choose quiet activities, breakfast offered
7:45 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.
Clean-up, restroom, children prepare to depart for school
8:00 a.m.
Van departs for school
After School Schedule
2:45 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
School bus riders begin arriving and gather in Fellowship Hall; wash hands,
snack offered; transition to School Age classrooms, put away belongings, choice
of activities in interest areas, some begin homework
3:30 p.m. – 3:50 p.m.
Church bus riders arrive and gather in Fellowship Hall; wash hands, snack
offered, clean-up
3:50 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Restroom, children transition to SA classrooms, put away belongings
4:00 p.m. – 4:45 p.m.
Homework help provided, choice of quiet activities in interest areas
4:45 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Clean-up, group meeting, gather belongings
5:00 p.m. – 5:45 p.m.
Outdoor play or gym play
5:45 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Clean-up and prepare to go home
HOMEWORK - We provide children with an afternoon snack and a few minutes to
relax before they begin their homework. Children need time to unwind after a
hectic day of school! Children who do not have homework will be asked to read
quietly or find a quiet activity during homework time. Our teachers offer
homework assistance and encouragement. Please understand that licensing and
accreditation standards do not allow us to force children to do homework, nor are
we allowed to insist that children complete all their homework assignments
before they can engage in other activities.
REMINDER - Please make sure that your child has a complete change of clothing
here at all times! This is so important – anything can happen, and it usually does. If
your child has an accident and there is not a change of clothes available, you will
be called to come for your child.
