We will offer school age care on the following dates:
January 23, 2012 and February 20, 2012
Reservations are required and spaces are limited.
DAILY SCHEDULE
Before School Schedule
7:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.
Children begin arriving; wash hands, choose quiet activities, breakfast
offered
8:00 a.m. – 8:15 a.m.
Clean-up, restroom, children prepare to depart for school
8:15 a.m.
Church bus departs for school
After School Schedule
3:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
School bus riders and car riders begin arriving and gather in Fellowship Hall
Wash hands, snack offered, clean-up, restroom break
Some may begin homework
3:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Church bus riders begin arriving and gather in Fellowship Hall
Wash hands, snack offered, clean-up, restroom break
4:00 p.m. – 4:20 p.m.
Outdoor/Gym Play
4:20 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Children gather belongings and transition to classroom
Short group meeting, discuss plan for the day, children share ideas for
projects/games, etc.
4:30 p.m. – 5:15 p.m.
Homework guidance provided
Choice of quiet activities in interest areas during homework time
5:15 p.m. – 5:45 p.m.
Restroom break
Choice of activities in interest areas, homework may continue for some
children (optional)
5:45 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Clean-up
Children gather belongings, prepare to depart
HOMEWORK - Children who do not have homework will be asked to read
quietly or find a quiet activity during homework time. Our group leaders
offer homework assistance and encouragement, but they are not permitted
to force children to do homework, nor are they permitted to insist that
children complete all their homework assignments before they can engage
in other activities.
