Valentine’s Day classroom parties will be held on Tuesday, February 14th.
Sign-up sheets will be posted outside classrooms, so please consider
making a contribution to the festivities! Your child’s teachers will be
sending home a class list of names soon.

Scholastic book orders are due back by due Friday Feb 10, 2012. Please
make all checks payable to Scholastic.

Thank you to all families who participated in the NAEYC Family Survey that
went out in January. Families will be able to view the results of that
survey on our website at www.fbcchildrenscenter.org by Friday, February
3, 2012. Hard copies of the survey results will be available upon request.

Parent Lunch Bunch - Ask the Expert
Thurs., Feb. 23, 12:00-1:00 pm - Rm. 26 - Gray Room
Wondering if your child is struggling with asthma? Got questions about
how to help your family deal with allergy issues? Come enjoy lunch
(FREE!) with Dr. Holly McPherson as she answers your questions about
allergies and asthma. Dr. McPherson serves with Allergy Partners of the
Piedmont here in Winston-Salem. Please RSVP by Fri., Feb. 17 to Brent
Greene at bgreene@fbcw-s.org if you plan to attend. Friends and family
are welcome.

Inclement Weather Policy Reminder: If the WS/FC Schools delay opening
due to inclement weather conditions, the Children’s Center will open at
9:00 AM.  If schools are closed for the day, we will open at 10:00 AM or
remain closed for the day, depending on the severity of road conditions.
A decision will be made by no later than 8:00 AM. We will send out an email
with delay or closing information as soon as a decision is made. Please
consult WXII-12 throughout the morning for updated delay/closing
information. You may also call the center in the morning and information
regarding delays or closings will be available on our answering machine.

Important Safety Reminder from WSPD: One of our morning officers asked
us to remind parents to get children out of the car curbside (not street
side) in the morning. The heavy flow of traffic on Poplar Street poses a
serious danger to children who are getting out of the car in the street
instead of on the sidewalk!
