Family Participation
First Baptist Church Children's Center

Family participation is vital to a successful early childhood
program. It is also a key component in maintaining our
National Accreditation standing. Parents play an important
role in enriching their children’s educational experiences.
Family participation in an early childhood program creates
a sense of joint responsibility that is shared by parents and
teachers for the child. We know that parents who get
involved in the education of their preschool children stay
involved once their children go on to elementary school.

We ask parents and/or family members to donate 1 hour
per month as a parent volunteer. Parent Interest Sheets
are available so that parents can consider how they would
like to help during the school year and the times that best
fit their schedules.

Some possible volunteer opportunities:

  • Classroom Captain

  • Lunch Helper (first and second lunch times available)

  • Wednesday Library Walks

  • Thursday City Market Walks (May through October)

  • Playground Beautification

  • General Classroom or Office Volunteer

  • Special Event Volunteer (Fall Festival, Picture Day, etc.)

  • Field Trip Helper

Family Participation Program
We recognize that parents bring their children to
First Baptist Church Children’s Center because they
must work. However, there are numerous opportunities
available for volunteers that can be tailored to
fit individual schedules.
